By using this tutorial you agree to my terms 

For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 9 . This was written using 9 but it can be done in 7 or 8 with a few adjustments.

Below is the smudge settings I used.

Air brush settings.

You will need my alpha channel canvas here. On the canvas I have placed the colors I used.

1. Load  alpha channel stem, flood fill with 3rd color on chart. Lock layer on the layer pallet. Use air brush with setting above. Use 1st. color on chart, spray lightly  on left side of stem. Spray a little heaver in the joints on the stems. Smudge. Apply cutout vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 2 color black.

2. Load alpha channel leaf 1 flood fill with 1st green color. Set background color with the 2nd green color and foreground with the 4th green. Spray the left side with 2nd color and right side with 4th color. About half way down spray lightly with the darkest green as in screen shot. Then smudge strokes going down. . Apply cutout change color to dark green.

3. Load alpha channel leaf 2 flood fill with 1st green color. Set background color with the 2nd green color and foreground with the 4th green. Spray as in 2nd step. Change foreground to 5th color and spray down the middle. Use darkest green at the tip. About 3/4 of the way down spray some dark green. Smudge  Change to first green color for the foreground and turn off the background color.  Use your pen tool or draw tool which ever you are comfortable with. Size 1 first green color. Draw a line down the middle of leaf. Gaussian blur 0.75. Turn off other layer and merge visible these two layers. Apply cutout.

4. Load leaf 3 alpha channel flood fill with 1st green. Set background and foreground with the last two green colors. Air brush using the lightest at the top. Use the darkest green at the bottom edges. Apply cutout.

5. Load leaf 4 alpha channel flood fill with 1st green.  Air brush using  2nd and 4th colors as in screen shot use darkest green at the bottom. Draw a line as you did in step 3 using darkest green. Draw another line on each side, blur as before. Lower opacity to about 67%. Again turn off other layer and merge visible.

6. For leaf 5 do the same as step 5.

7. For leaves 6 and 7 do the same as you did for step 3.

This is what I have so far.   

8. Load alpha channel bud 1 flood fill with the 3rd color on the first row of colors. Remember to lock the layer. Change the size to 3 to 9.  Set the background to color 2 and foreground to 4th. Spray on the left side with 2nd color and right side with 4 as in screen shot. Change colors to #f5e3c5 foreground and 8th color for background. Smudge.

9. Load bud 2.Do the same as above. I sprayed a little of color 6 down the middle. Smudge.

10. Add new layer. Load bud 2 again flood fill with same color and paint as you did before. Change it a little here and there. Smudge  Rotate 25 degrees to the right. Move it down a little.

11. Add new layer and do the same as above. This time rotate 15 degrees to the left.

You should have four buds now.

12. Load  alpha channel bud 3. Do the same as you did in steps 8 to 11.

You should have something like this.

13. Load alpha channel bud top flood fill with color 3. Set foreground to 1st color and background to 7th. Spray as in screen shot. Smudge then use color 8 and 1 as in second screen shot. Smudge

14. Load alpha channel flower 1, flood fill with color 1 on last color chart. Set back ground color to 3 and foreground to 4. Smudge Change to color 1 and white for high light as in screen shot 2. Smudge.

15. Load alpha channel flower bottom. Flood fill with brown color 1. Spray color 2 then 3 smudge. Use color 4 for high light.

16. Load alpha channel flower 2 flood fill with color 1 on bottom of chart. Set foreground to color 3 and back ground to color 4. Spray as in screen shot then smudge.

Change to color 2 (I use size 2 to 6 for this part) and spray as in screen shot. Use 3rd and 4th again as in second screen shot. Smudge.  Use color 2 to spray as in last screen shot.

Whew almost done now.

17. Load alpha channel flower 3. Flood fill with color 1. Set background and foreground with 3 and 4. Spray as in screen shot. Smudge. Use color 2 to paint in like second screen shot. Smudge. Change to color 4 and dark brown  paint in as in screen  next screen shot. Use color #ffff00 in the center of color 4. Use soften tool to blend a little.

That's all there is to it. Just add the shadow's where you want.
