By using this tutorial you agree to my terms

Feel free to use your own colors for this.

For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 8 or 9 . This was written using 9 but it can be done in 7 with a few adjustments.

You will need my alpha channel canvas and supplies here. On the canvas I have placed the colors I used.

Open canvas that you down loaded. Load alpha-channel stems and flood fill with # 5D7503.

Next we are going to draw some leaves using the Pen tool. Above is how it should be set up. Click on point to point. No grumbling it isn't hard. We are going to use the foreground color # 5D7503 back ground set to nil. We will reverse it after we are done. Some one I know has a problem drawing unless she can see the gray and white checks in the back ground. (snicker)

Click left mouse button hold then drag up to the left   release. Then move mouse below as in screen shot.   click once then release.   Click one around to get your basic leaf shape. Select all  Right click on canvas and choose node type, then symmetric. Select none  Make you adjustments to shape your leaf. To make a nice point for the bottom right click again on canvas and chose cusp.

For those that like to make your shape or adjustments with the leaf a solid color you can just click on the material box and swap foreground to back ground. Click on the arrows to do this. .

Now you leaf will be solid .  That is all there is to making leaves with the pen tool. It is good practice using the pen tool. With this Jasmine flower you will get plenty of practice using it.

I made the stems this way too.

This method also works with the preset shapes tool. Draw out the shape you want using the foreground color the after you done just swap to the back ground.

Ok let get going on the rest of the leaves, there is a lot of them so we will paint these after we get the branch done. I get bored drawing them all out and then painting so we will paint as we go.

Add new vector layer for each leaf. Make 6 leaves. Then next leaf will be a little different in shape because when we paint it it will have a piece that looks folded up.

The next leaf goes part on top of this leaf.

There now that does it for this branch. You sould have something like this.

Convert your leaves to raster layers. Save your image.

Follow me to next page for painting this branch.  2
