Angel
Another
Angel for Opal.
Feel free to use your own colors for this.
As always with my tutorials the finished graphic is yours.
Feel free to do your own vectoring to. It is all very simple shapes.
For this tutorial you will need
Jasc PSP
9 . This was written using 9 but it can be done in 8
or 7 with a
few adjustments.
You can get the alpha channel canvas here.
Airbrush settings. 
Smudge settings. 
For
each step load alpha
channel selections,
then flood fill
with certain colors.
To keep from typing
the same thing for
each layer I will
just type the layer
we will be working
on. I have the layer
turned off so when
you click on a layer
don't for get to
click on the
to turn it on.
1.
Wings: Flood fill
with #aca18b. Go
to selections/modify/contract
by 2. Invert
selection then apply
the round inner
bevel. Invert selection
again then flood
fill with #fefdf8.
Deselect. Click
on pen tool using
settings below.
Use color #c2b29b
for foreground and
set back ground
to nil.

Add
new vector layer.
Make sure
the free hand button
is clicked. Draw
and design similar
to one is screen
shot or what ever
you choose to do
on the left side
of wing, do the
same for the right
side. .

Convert
to raster layer
and apply same inner
bevel preset. merge
these 2 layers.
2.
Arms and legs: Flood
fill with #f0d0c1.
Click on the lock
in the layer pallet. Apply cutout
using these settings.
Vertical and horizontal
0, opacity 100 and
blur 4 color #926a45.H
3.
Head: Flood fill
with same color
as above. Lock layer
apply cutout change
opacity to 84, blur
to 18.
4.
Shoes: Flood fill
with first color
on chart. I got
the shoes out of
order so move it
down under the legs.
Use 2nd color for
the shading as in
screen shot. Use
color #70451e for
inside of shoes.
Smudge to blend.
I added some poke
a dots using #aca18b.
Click on ends of
legs and soften.

5.Pants:
Flood fill with
3rd color on chart.
Use 2nd color for
shading. Add new
vector layer. Use
pen tool set foreground
color to 2nd on
chart, background
set to nil. Draw
a squiggly design.
Convert to raster
layer and apply
round inner bevel.
Below is what I
ended up with. Turn
off all other layers
and merge the pants
layer to the squiggly
one.
6.
Cuffs: Flood fill
with #fefdf8. Apply
cutout. Vertical
and horizontal 0,
opacity 100 and
blur 3, color
#531114. Use #531114
air brush and spray
as in screen shot.
smudge to blend.

7.
Blouse: Flood fill
with 4th color.
Use 5th color for
shading as in screen
shot. I used the
5th color to add
some poke a dots.

8.
Water Can: Flood
fill with 6th color
on chart. Click
on trim layer and
flood fill with
black. Go back to
the water can layer.
Use 5th color for
shading as in screen
shot. Use white
for high light.
Smudge to blend.
Use
free hand selection
tool
to go around handle
as in 2nd screen shot.
Then click on the
handle to select
it then apply round
inner bevel. Air
brush dots
on the round part
of the handle to
look like holes.

9.
Flower Stem: Flood
fill with 6th color
apply cutout change
blur to 8 and color
to dark green.
10.
Flower Pot: Flood
fill with 3rd color
on chart. Use 2nd
color for shading.
Use light pink for
high light. Smudge
to blend.

11.
Flower: I used the
flower preset shape
#5. You may use
what ever you like.
I used a pail pink
color. Apply cutout
and shade.
12.
Hands: Flood fill
with #f0d0c1. Click on the lock
in the layer pallet. Apply cutout
using these settings.
Vertical and horizontal
0, opacity 100 and
blur 4 color #926a45.
Use #f0d0c1 to paint
over the wrist area
so it doesn't have
the cutout on it.
13.
Glasses: Flood fill
with black apply
round inner bevel
preset.
14.
Hat: Flood fill
with Animal Tiger
pattern in the materials
chart. Apply cutout
change blur to 8
and color to black.
15.
Band: Flood fill
with black. Apply
inner bevel round.
16.
I used preset shape
flower 3 for the
hat. You can use
what ever you want.
Almost
done now. Just have
to do the face,
hair and some bobbles.
17.
Click on the head
layer. Add new vector
layer. I used black
for the nose. Use
the pen tool size
1 and make your
nose. I used preset
shape ellipse 2nd
color on chart for
the lips.

Add
new vector layer.
Click on preset
shape ellipse. Set
back ground to #a52b2d
foreground set to
nil make a small
round ball click
apply. Set foreground
to same color and
background to nil.
Use size 1 for the
pen tool. Make a
small line to ball.
Convert to
raster layer. I
used Super blade
pro to make it look
like a ruby. LOL
sort of any way.
You can get the
Ruby preset
here
Use
pen tool size 2
freehand, to
draw some hair.

You
can make a new styled
line to use for
the necklace. Click
on the line
tool, then click
on the
then click on the
custom button at
the bottom. Use
the settings in
the screen shot
below. Save as New
name it what ever
you like. I
named mine sm-necklace.
lol You can
use the new line
style for the necklace
and bracelet. Apply
blade pro setting
to make it look
like gem stones.
