Bow's and Bow's

By using this tutorial you agree to my terms

All you need for this is PSP 7 and your favorite gradient.

Set your styles to both gradient. Set top one to angle 0, repeats 0, bottom one is angle 135, repeats 0.

Click on draw tool set to freehand, size 1, antialias checked. Open image 400X400. It is a bit big but we are just going to practice making them for now. When I make a bow for a picture I draw it right on the graphic so I can get the size I want for it. Start in the center of your image draw loop as in red, (don't let up on mouse button) leave a little gap between where you started you loop and where you are now. Continue on as in blue crossing over the red lines a few times. Meet at top of image where you started. Now you have made your first loop. Add new layer and make another loop in a different direction. Continue on adding loops till you get the bow shape you want.

If you are satisfied with your bow you can merge visible. I usually leave it unmerged so I can use part of it for something else. LOL For the center part of bow. Just make a circle and cross over lines.

Now to add ribbons or streamers. Click on bottom layer so you are drawing under the bow. Make S like lines then weave back up crisscrossing the lines. If you want skinny streamers do a lot of crisscrossing. The wavier your S is the curlier your ribbon will be.

On the bow below I made a loop then clicked duplicate layer, then mirror. I did that for each layer then added ribbons.
