By using this tutorial you agree to my terms

For this tutorial you will need VanDerLee Snowflake filter, the Simple Quick tile, and Jasc PSP.

You can get the bubble tube here.

I am going to show you how to make a couple different kinds of backgrounds.

1. Open transparent image 300X300. You can use 200 but for the bubbles I liked the 300. Flood fill with the color of your choice. I used #85A8A8. Name it color. Now we want to make the canvas larger. Image/canvas size, set it to dimensions below.

Add new layer, now we are going to use the bubble tube. Set the tube size to 25. If you used the 200X200 canvas set the size to 15. Now just click away putting bubbles all over the canvas. Add as many as you like. When you get enough bubbles on there duplicate bubble layer.

2. Click selection tool /select all, then click anywhere on canvas. Hold down the shift key, and hit the down arrow 15 times to move the layer down. Duplicate this layer. Do the same as above for this layer. We have 3 bubble layers now. Now we need to change the canvas size back to 300.

I learned this technic from Jo-Ellen. I did her rain effect a while back and when I was playing with this I though of her rain and how it looked like it was falling so real like.  So  I made it snow. LOL You can get to her Rain Effect here.  She amended it to make the snow to. My snow is a bit different so check out hers too.

3.Now we need 3 images for the animation   X out the top layers and merge visible. Copy/paste as new image.  Use simple quick tile to make it a seamless tile. Save as Bubbles 1.

Now click on the bubbles image and un-merge.  X out layer 1 and click on layer 2, merge visible. Copy/paste as new image.  Quick tile this layer too. Save as Bubbles 2. Do the same as above for the last layer. Now you should have 3 images. Open animation shop and load the 3 bubble images. Set the speed at 25. You can go lower to make it run fast or higher to go slower.

Now a good tip I learned from Nancy is to resize in animation shop. Below is confetti and resized in animation shop at 75%. You can use just about anything to make it.

We can take a break and then go on to making the snow.

Open image 300X300 flood file with blue #7C8DAB or color of your choice.

Do the same as in Step 1 and change the size of canvas. Add new layer and apply setting below with the ADL  Snowflake filter.

Continue on with the steps. An you will have snow.

You can experiment and make different color snow or glitters.

Use your creative imagination just have fun.
