This is just a quick and fun (I hope) tut to show you how I make them.

Open transparent image 156X159. I know it is small but you can zoom in to see a little better. I will be blurry but the bouncy doesn't have to be perfect. You can use the draw tool size 1, freehand, antialias, close path and create as vector all checked. Draw a little puffy cloud. Or what ever little shape you want. This is what I came up with. You can choose your own colors for foreground and background. Or you can use preset shapes.

When you get the shape you want Shift + D to make copy. Save as template to make others.

Add new layer, use the airbrush size 20, hardness 40, opcity 50, step 25, density 100. Choose a red color for cheeks. Click a couple times till you get the cheek you want. Put a white dot at the top of the cheek for high light. Add new layer do the same for the nose.

Draw tool set at 1 foreground color black. Background set nil. Freehand and draw a smile from cheek to cheek.

Choose preset shape Ellipse. Line width 1 foreground black. Background white. Draw out an eye. Ctrl + A & F to select. Selection/modify/contract 1. Choose your air brush again with same settings. You may have to adjust the size to fit. Use a blue or what ever color you want the eye color to be. Use your draw tool again set at 1 to make eye lashes. Add a little high light at the top. You should have something like this so far.

Feel free to do your own thing with the face.

When you are happy with the face merge visible layers.

You can use the preset shapes to make a hat, or glasses or any other kind of decoration you want for him or her. When you are finished merge visible.

Now we need a shadow at the bottom. Use air brush to make a shadow. You should have something like this, with 2 layers.

We are going to resize our little person now. We want him 56X59 check resize all layers, and un check maintain aspect ratio.

Now we are ready to animate.

Shift D to make 3 copies. The first one the face is closer to the shadow. For the second one move the face up a bit and resize the shadow 90%. For the third one move face up more and resize shadow 80%. Add a background color if you want now or just merge visible. Save the 3 images then open animation shop. Set speed from 10 to 30. Depends on how fast you want it to run.
